PRIZES 05 Stepben Ipri3e This Prize was founded in 1840 by Sir George Stephen The Prize consists of books to the value of £3 3s The Prize is open to all regular students of the College who have completed one term and not exceeded nine terms The Prize will be awarded annually for an English Essay upon prescribed subject The exercise must be typewritten and distinguished by some motto The candidate should send his exercise to the Secretary before May 31st at the same time sending his name and motto under sealed cover Subject for 1932 Rasselas and Candide an essay in comparison Drew olb Ibe&al anb ip rt3e for l&atbemattcs This Prize was founded in 1872 by William Henry Drew Professor of Mathematics 1869 to 1882 in memory of his eldest son Robert Middlemist Drew Mathematical Scholar Elect of St John's College Oxford who died before he had completed his 17th year on Commemoration Day at King's College 1870 The Prize consists of gold medal and books of the joint value of £10 The Prize is open to all regular students who have attended at least two years at the College The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who in the opinion of the Principal and the Head of the Department of Mathe- matics shall have most distinguished himself in the subject of Mathe- matics Blabstone I&emorial fl ri3e The Committee of the Gladstone Memorial Fund established Glad- stone Memorial Prizes to be given in books at the Universities of Oxford Cambridge and London the Scottish Universities and the University Colleges of Great Britain for special proficiency in History and Political Science and Economics The Prize allotted to King's College consists of books to the value of £5 The Prize is open to all regular students of the College and will be awarded on the results of the terminal and annual examinations in History The Prize cannot be held simultaneously with the Inglis Student- ship or the Brewer Prize for History
