64 PRIZES III -FACULTY OF ARTS -Prizes in Arts open to all Regular Students of the College Carter ip ri3e for Englisb IDerse This Prize was founded in 1879 under the will of George Redsull Carter The Prize consists of gold medal and books of the joint value of about £15 The Prize is open to all Regular Students of the College who have completed one Term and not exceeded nine Terms The Prize will be awarded annually for an exercise in English Original Verse upon prescribed subject The exercise must not fall short of 150 nor exceed 200 lines and must be typewritten and distinguished by some motto The pandidate should send his exercise to the Secretary before May 31st at the same time sending his name and motto under sealed cover Subject for 1932 The Fool in Lear William Stebbing prise This Prize was founded in 1927 under the will of William Stebbing The Prize consists of books to the value of about £6 10s The Prize is open to all regular students of the College who have completed two terms as day students or four terms as evening students and have not exceeded nine terms The Prize will be awarded annually for an exercise in English Verse or Prose upon prescribed subject The exercise must be typewritten and distinguished by some motto The candidate should send his exercise to the Secretary before May 31st at the same time sending his name and motto under sealed cover Subject for 1932 translation into English verse from any Classical Mediaeval or Modern foreign language of poem or poems the total length of which should not fall short of 50 nor exceed 100 lines
