ANNUAL REPORT position in regard to the course as whole is one of good promise Several very generous gifts of equipment were made during the year The award of College Certificate in Chemical Engineering has now been approved by the Senate and has been recognised by the Institution of Chemical Engineers as exempting the holders from examination for Associate-membership of the Institution Two students obtained the Certificate at the Sessional Examinations Department of Zoology Number of Students Intermediate Science 14 First Medical 53 Conjoint 16 Dental Anatomy 13 Sc Honours 10 Special General Subsidiary Post-graduate Total 109 In addition to the above 15 students from other colleges attended Professor Mackinnon's intercollegiate course came from Birk- beck College weekly for special instruction in protozoology and students working for the Sc Degree in the Principles History and Method of Science attended some lectures in the third term Results of Examinations In the Special Final Examination in Zoology students obtained Second Class Honours and gained Pass Higher Degree Ph Mr Η Roy Studies on some Sporozoan Parasites in Polychsete Worms Researches The scope of the research carried on throughout the Session is suffi- ciently indicated in the list of works published Appendix III New Developments At the close of the Session the large Honours laboratory occupied for the last three years by students of the Botany Department was handed over to Zoology and arrangements were made whereby this room should also serve for lecturing to the Honours Class and for housing the teaching museum The Dendy Laboratory and adjoining lecturer's room became the property of the Department of Physiology and the room formerly used as museum was adapted by partition walls to give two rooms for lecturers and small animal room The room that hitherto had been used mainly as an Honours lecture-room was con- verted into preparation-room
