χ ANNUAL REPORT Smith and Mr Woodman and University Scholarships by Miss Squier French and Mr Nicholls Derby Scholarship in English History The Inglis Studentship in English was awarded to Miss Kathleen Quinn and the Inglis Studentship in History was renewed for second year to Miss Emily Pemberton The Harold Row Studentship in Zoology was renewed for second year to Miss Marjorie Allan- son the Daniell Scholarship was gained by Mr Craggs Berridge Studentship was awarded to Mr Boyd renewal The Bursary annually offered by the British Association was awarded to Mr Μ Ratcliffe Engineering The following students received awards from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and will be working in the College under the Supervisors indicated during the Session 1930-31 Student Supervisor D'Silva Dr McClelland McClelland Professor Smiles Number of Full-time Students The number of full-time students in the College in the various Faculties during the Session was as follows -In the Faculty of Arts 615 564 of whom 428 409 were taking course for Degree and 187 155 course for Diploma in the Faculty of Natural Science 194 206 all of whom were taking course for Degree in the Faculty of Medical Science 217 253 of whom 128 133 were taking course for Degree and 89 120 the Examinations of the Conjoint Board in the Faculty of Engineering 110 110 of whom 94 96 were taking course for Degree and 16 14 course for the College Diploma in the Faculty of Laws 52 45 all of whom were taking course for Degree and in the Faculty of Theology 198 171 of whom 52 42 were taking course for Degree and the remainder the course for the Associateship of King's College In the six Faculties there were thus 1386 1349 full-time under- graduate day students In addition there were 182 160 evening students taking course for Degree exclusive of evening students in Theology 145 130 in the Faculty of Arts in the Faculty of Natural Science and 34 24 in the Faculty of Laws There were also 201 164 students of whom 125 93 were full-time and 76 71 part- time taking course for higher Degree in one of the various Faculties In addition 10 students were taking other Post-graduate or Post- diploma courses and 16 16 students were engaged in independent research There were also in the College 264 212 part-time students day and evening who were taking course for first Diploma In addition there were 822 804 occasional students who were attending lectures not leading to Degree or Diploma The numbers in square brackets are those of the previous year
