FACULTY OF ENGINEERING 217 Arrangements are also made for supervising the studies of Graduates of this and of other Universities who are candidates for higher degree in the University of London For further particulars refer to the University Calendar RESEARCH Facilities are offered in the various Laboratories of the College for persons wishing to undertake Research COURSE FOR COLLEGE DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IN ENGINEERING The College Diploma in Engineering is awarded without further examination to all Students who succeed in obtaining Honours in the Internal Degree examinations at King's College The College Certificate in Engineering is awarded without further examination to all students who obtain Pass in the Internal Degree examination at King's College Students may however attend the College for the purpose of obtaining the Diploma or Certificate only For such candidates the Regulations are as follows candidate for the Diploma or Certificate in Engineering must have pursued his studies as Regular Student in the Faculty of Engineering for not less than nine terms unless he has already obtained such external distinctions as may be deemed by the Board of the Faculty sufficient to exempt him from part of the College course In no case will the period of study required be less than six terms candidate must satisfy the Board of the Faculty as to his conduct attendance and progress in the courses for each subject of the First Year Second Year and Third Year Examinations He must pass the following Examinations unless otherwise exempted The College Entrance Examination before entry The First Year Examination The Second Year Examination The Third Year Examination The Diploma will not be awarded to candidate who having entered for the Diploma only fails to qualify for it within three years of his entering upon his Second Year course Satisfactory attendance implies attendance at the class examinations Absence from any class amounting to more than 20 per cent of the total number of hours of attendance possible will disqualify Strident from entering for Degree and Diploma Examinations Any Student may on application to the Dean obtain exemption from the lectures in either Chemistry or Geology but Students who attend the lectures in both subjects and pass the Sessional Examinations therein will be credited with the result on their Diplomas
