FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE 205 PHARMACOLOGY MATERIA MEDICA AND THERAPEUTICS Head of the Department Inchley Lecturer This Department is for the teaching of Pharmacology Materia Medica and General Therapeutics The Materia Medica Museum is designed for the use of Students and is open to them throughout the day Two Courses of Instruction in Pharmacology are given one in the Michaelmas Term the other in the Easter Term consisting of Lectures Catechetical Class Demonstrations and Practical Experimental Pharmacology Lectures Demonstrations and Catechetical Class The Lectures Catechetical Class and Demonstrations are intended for candidates for Oxford Cambridge London and Conjoint Examina- tions The Practical Experimental Pharmacology is necessary for candidates proceeding to degrees at Oxford Cambridge and London In the Lectures the Chemical Composition and Properties of Drugs are taught the Pharmacological Actions of the more typical substances discussed and their general therapeutic uses considered In the Demonstrations the action of drugs and other remedial agents is shown on mammalian organs short Revision Class will be held in the Lent Term one hour week time to be arranged EXPERIMENTAL PHARMACOLOGY The Practical Experimental Pharmacology is limited to forty Students and is conducted in the Laboratory where Students determine the action of important drugs on decerebrate animals and surviving organs Michaelmas Term Lectures -Th 11-12 Demonstrations -F 5-6 Experimental Pharmacology -Th 4-6 Catechetical Class -F 12 30 fee -£6 6s Easter Term Lectures -M Tu Th 11-12 Demonstrations -Th 4-5 Experimental Pharmacology -M 4-6 Catechetical Class -Μ Fee -£6 6e PRACTICAL PHARMACY Class in Practical Pharmacy is conducted by the Head Dispenser at the Hospitals The subject matter taught in this class conforms
