114 FACULTY OF AETS Sociological Educational Industrial In connection with the London Day Training College and the School of Economics Courses have been arranged in the Department of Psychology to meet the conditions required by the University Applicants for registration at King's College should consult the Head of the Department VII -FOR CERTIFICATES IN SPANISH PORTUGUESE ITALIAN RUSSIAN HEBREW SYRIAC CZECHO-SLOVAK SERBO-CROAT POLISH AND APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY The Certificates in Languages are awarded by the Delegacy of King's College on the recommendation of the College Faculty of Arts Examinations for the Certificates are held once year in the month of July or at such other time as shall hereafter be arranged The Certificates are intended to testify to such practical knowledge of the language as is required by Engineers and those engaged in Industry and Commerce whether residing in the countries where the language is spoken or employed in Banks Offices and Houses doing business with those countries Previous study at school or elsewhere may in many cases enable students to attain the prescribed standard without prolonged course at the College but in no case are candidates admitted to the examination till they have attended courses at the College comprising not less than 90 hours in all whether taken in one session or more The Examination consists of An oral examination which shall include Dictation Reading and Conversation Free composition in the language choice of subjects will be given-historical technical and general Transla- tion from English Translation into English The Examination in Applied Psychology consists of written and an oral test together with practical examination In Syriac there will be no oral test Associate Students of the university Students taking courses for Language Certificates may apply for registration through the College as Associate Students of the University The application for registration accompanied by fee of 10s must be made within three months of the commencement of the course Matriculated students and those already pursuing course in April 1931 may register without fee No student may register as an Associate Student who is also registered as an Internal or External student card will be sent by the Academio Registrar notifying the student of his registration On satisfactory completion of the course Certificate that the course has been completed will be issued on'application through the College to the University
