66 PRIZES The Prizes will be awarded annually one on the result of the year's work in English Literature and the other on the result of the year's work in Modern History Marr tentorial pri3e This Prize was founded in 1903 by Mrs Warr in memory of Professor Warr Professor of Classical Literature in King's College from 1879 to 1901 The Prize consists of books to the value of about £3 The Prize is open to all regular students who have been in at- tendance during the session at the classes in Latin Greek and Ancient History The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who in the opinion of the Principal and the Head of the Department of Classics shall have most distinguished himself in the subjects of Latin Greek and Ancient History IRonalfc Burrows IDemorial 1p ri3e This Prize was founded in 1921 from funds contributed by the colleagues and friends of Ronald Montagu Burrows Litt Ph Principal of King's College from 1913 to 1920 The Prize is of the value of about £30 and is awarded annually to graduate of British University or of the University of Athens Preference will be given to Student who has graduated in Honours from King's College or King's College Theological Department The Prize is awarded after recommendation by the College Faculty of Arts in the case of students who have graduated from the College after consideration of the results of the University of London Honours Examinations in the case of other Graduates after con- sideration of the results of their Honours Degree examination supple- mented if necessary by reports of their teachers and by written or oral test The Prizeman will be required to pursue an approved course of advanced study to the satisfaction of the Principal in Ancient Mediaeval or Modern Greek Language Literature or History or in Greek Archaeology The date and manner of payment shall be at the discretion of the College Authorities student may be awarded the prize in two or more consecutive years Η in any year the Prize is not awarded the interest thus accumu- lated shall be avaUable at the discretion of the Principal either for an increase in the amount of Prize subsequently awarded or of the award of two prizes in subsequent year
