ANNUAL REPORT Examiner for the examination for the Assooiateship in the Faculty of Theology The Council are indebted to him for careful report on the standard of the examination which was received with much satisfaction The Annual Reunion of the Theological Society was held in the College on Whit-Tuesday Dr Gore preached at the Te Deum in the evening which was followed by dinner in the Upper Refectory change in the order of proceedings was made this year and gratifying increase in numbers present was observed The students' branch of the Theological Society has been active and it has now been possible to assign the room which was formerly rented to the Delegacy for these meetings Corporation of King's College The Council have elected the following Fellows of King's College to be members of the Corporation -the Dowager Viscountess Hambleden Sir Clarendon Hyde Lord Blanesburgh Dr Franklin Sibly Mr Η Gladstone the Right Hon Reginald McKenna Sir Charles Parsons Sir Edward Troup Dame Helen Gwynne Vaughan Sir Charles Wakefield Staff Fortunately no changes in the Staff have to be recorded but several distinctions may be mentioned Professor Claude Jenkins has been appointed Residentiary Canon of Canterbury Professor Relton has been invited by the Bishops of the South African Church to make tour of the chief centres of Church life and to give lectures to the clergy The Dean has been appointed Wilde Lecturer in the University of Oxford and Select Preacher Mr Knight who was the Post- Graduate scholar has been elected to research scholarship in the Union Theological Seminary New York Fellowships On his resignation of the Archbishopric of Canterbury and con- sequently ceasing to be Visitor of the College the Council elected Lord Davidson of Lambeth to be Fellow In connection with the Centenary of the College it was decided to elect larger number of Fellows than usual and the following were appointed -The Bishop of London the Bishop of Southwark the Dean of St Paul's Professor Ο Oesterley Dr Smith the Rev Barry the Rev Norman the oldest living member of the College and Mr Shovelton Secretary of the College since 1919 The foregoing have also been appointed as members of the Corporation The Council regret to record the death of the following Fellows who were members of the Corporation -Sir William Dyer Sir John Phillips Sir Nestor Tirard the Rev Edmund Geard Captain Robertson the Hon Mr Justice Salter
