ANNUAL REPORT XXXV11 Results of Examinations In the Special Sc Examination students obtained First Class Honours in Geology and Second Class students gained Second Class Honours in Geography and Pass Degree In the Honours Examination in Geography students were placed in the First Class in the Second Class and in the Third Class New Developments The removal of the Department to new quarters involved good deal of work in organising the removal and in planning out the new rooms It is believed that the new buildings will add to the efficiency of the work of the Department by affording additional rooms and so less interfering of classes The joint School in Geography of King's College and the London School of Economics is progressing and closer touch is being main- tained between the two institutions Departmental Notes Dr Wooldridge acted on the Council of the Geologists' Association Dr Wells again served as Honorary Editor and member of Council of the Geologists' Association he is also Secretary of Section of the British Association for the Advancement of Science Professor Gordon served as member of Council of the Geological Society and later was elected Secretary of the Society he was also Vice-President of the Geologists' Association During the Centenary Celebrations the Professor was elected Fellow of the College Mr Linttm Sc was appointed Lecturer in Geography in the University of Edinburgh and Mr Kirkaldy Sc has been appointed in his place for the Session 1929-30 During the Session all the senior members of the Staff delivered public lectures in their special subjects in London Leicester Hitchin and Cardiff In addition Dr Wells and Dr Wooldridge gave courses at the Sir John Cass Institute Department of Botany Number of Students The number of students in the Department during the Session was 176 made up as follows Intermediate Science 22 First Medical 62 Conjoint old regulation General and Special Honours 22 Intercollegiate 44 History of Science 12 Post-graduate and Research Miscellaneous Total 176
