facttlty of arts 109 Final Examination in Aets In their SECOND year Students enter on the courses for the PASS or HONOURS Examination While an Honours course may be taken in two years after the Intermediate Examination and both the University and the College courses are planned on two-year basis it is generally desirable that student should devote three years to his Honours course For the PASS degree four subjects have to be taken selected from the following and Two languages of which one must be either Latin with Roman History or Greek with Greek History Both Latin and Greek may be taken and Any two subjects not already taken from list which includes the following Latin with Roman History Pali Bengali etc Greek with Greek History Hebrew English Mathematics Pure French Mathematics Applied German Geography Italian Philosophy Spanish Psychology Portuguese Economics Danish etc History Dutch Education Russian Theology Polish Anthropology Czech and Slovak Military Studies Serbo-Croat and Slovene Music Sanskrit English Constitutional Law Only one of these subjects may be offered In and after 1932 the Pass Degree will be replaced by General Degree for which the number of subjects will be three candidate may choose any three of the subjects for the present Pass Degree provided one is language other than his own The History of Art may also be offered as one of the three subjects Education may be offered only in 1932 Three papers will be set in each subject and the Pass list will be published in three divisions Honours will not be awarded Detailed syllabuses will be published later The Examination for HONOURS may be taken in one of the following and other branches but in most cases the candidate will be required to take subsidiary subject also Classics Archaeology Latin Architecture Greek English Mathematics French The examination for Honours in Mathematics is divided into two parts Part should be taken two years after the Intermediate Examination and degree and class are awarded on the result Part II may be taken at the same time but it is very desirable that if both parts are taken the course should extend over three years
