48 scholarships and exhibitions The emoluments and all privileges of this scholarship may be forfeited if in the opinion of the Council the conduct of the Scholar or his work either in Theology or Medicine is unsatisfactory Applications accompanied by Testimonials should be addressed to the Dean of King's College Strand who will recommend the Scholar for election by the Council on the advice of the Joint Professorial Board Scholar For the names of those elected previously to 1926 see former Calendars 1926 Cartwright Frederick Fox II -FACULTY OF ARTS Sambroofee Scbolarsbip in Classics One Scholarship of Ā£30 per annum for three years given out of the Sambrooke Trust is offered annually to the candidate who shows the greatest merit in an Examination in Classics The Scholarship is open to both men and women Undergraduate students of the College are eligible provided they have not been registered for more than three Terms The following are the subjects of the examination -Latin Greek and the writing of an English Essay The successful Candidate if not already student of the College will be required to enter the Faculty of Arts at the College as an internal student of the University of London in the October next following the examination with the understanding that he will proceed to an Honours Degree in the University of London The payments will be made in nine terminal instalments pro- vided the Student continues in attendance as Regular Student in the Day Classes and produces to the Secretary at the end of each Term Certificate of good conduct and of satisfactory progress in his studies Scholars For the names of those elected previously to 1925 see former Calendar 1825 Home Arthur Stanley 1926 Beale Stanley 1927 West Sydney George 3110 lis Stubentsbip Founded 1857 by George Monckton Esq of Somerford Hall Penkridge and others in memory of the Right Honourable Sir Robert Harry Inglis Baronet The regulations were revised in 1911 and again in 1923
