ANNUAL REPORT XXV11 was awarded University Post-graduate Scholarship Mr Davies also was awarded for the second time at the sessional examinations the Equity Essay Prize at University College Of the remaining students who entered for the Final LL Examination were awarded Second Class Honours passed the Honours Examination in order to qualify for entry to the LL Examination and failed or did not appear at the Examination At the beginning of the Session 1925-6 the Principal entertained the Law Lecturers and all the Law students of the College at dinner After dinner the Principal Lecturers and students met in the Senior Common Room and the students were invited to express their views on any matters relating to the Faculty which they thought might be conducive to their studies Several students spoke and made good suggestions many of which have been adopted Most of the speakers expressed the hope that room might be provided in which they could read and have ready access to Law Reports and text-books Unfortu- nately the accommodation desired could not be provided last Session but it is hoped that the want may be supplied during the coming Session The meeting which was the first of its kind was greatly appreciated by students and Lecturers FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCE In the General Honours Examination for the Degree of Sc which was held for the first time at the end of the Session students obtained First Class Honours 13 Second Class Honours and 18 passed Department of Mathematics Two hundred and fifty-one students attended Courses in the Depart- ment during the year Of these 13 were taking the Intermediate Course in Arts and 59 that in Science was taking Mathematics for the Pass Degree 55 were taking the General Honours Course for the Degree of Sc and 14 the Special Honours Course Ninety-one were Engineer- ing students 16 were taking Mathematics as subsidiary subject and were Post-graduate students In the Special Examination for the Degree of Sc students were placed in the First Class in the Second Class and passed In the General Examination for the Degree of Sc students obtained First Class 10 students obtained Second Class and 16 passed 14 students passed the Examination in Mathematics as subsidiary subject In the Honours Examination for the Degree of student was placed in the First Class and in the Third Mr Wright proceeded to the Degree of by Examination Of the members of the Staff Mr Bath Sc was preparing thesis for the Degree of Ph at Cambridge Mr Heath was pre- paring thesis for the Senior Mathematical Scholarship in the Uni- versity of Oxford and Mr Davis Sc was working for the Degree of Sc in the University of London
