ANNUAL REPORT XXV the first and second terms by Miss Oakeley on "The Philosophy of Aristotle and on Philosophy and History In the Easter Term lecture of special interest to students of Philosophy and of English was given by Professor Delattre of the University of Lille on "La Personality d'Henri Bergson et l'Angleterre There can be no doubt that although the number of regular students of Philosophy in London is small there is much interest in the subject among the general public Professor Wildon Carr who is returning to the University of Lower California for another session and Miss Oakeley were Delegates of the Aristotelian Society to the International Congress of Philosophy meeting at Harvard University in September Miss Oakeley was re-elected Chairman of the Board of Philosophical Studies in the University for 1926 Department of Psychology During the Session 1925-6 there were altogether 159 students in attendance in the Department of whom were reading for first degrees a&d were Post-graduate students carrying out researches for higher degrees The remainder included 13 students from the Faculty of Theology reading for the Diploma in Journalism and 57 from the Department of Education Sixteen attended course in the Psychology of Advertising There were 17 Intercollegiate and 31 occasional students At the end of the Session 1924-5 student proceeded to first Arts Honours degree and qualified for the first part of the Academic Diploma in Psychology Iudustrial At the end of the session 1925-6 student proceeded to first Science degree Special Honours 2nd Class and one to first Arts Honours 1st Class proceeded to first Arts degrees Pass and one qualified as candidate for the degree of Ph Mr Borislav Stevanovic proceeded to the degree of Ph on the presentation of the following thesis An Experimental Study of the Mental Processes Involved in Judgement Seven researches have been in progress in the Department during the Session six being carried out by Post-graduate students course of lectures with demonstrations on The Psychology of Advertising was added to the courses provided by the Department and was well attended by professional advertisers course of four Public Lectures on Applied Psychology was given by the Reader and Mr Bartlett in the Michaelmas Term course of five Public Lectures on The Human Will "was given by the Reader in the Lent Term and was attended by large audiences The Reader and Mr Bartlett gave two lectures with Demonstrations to the Science Masters' Association at their Annual Meeting and communica- tions were made to the British Psychological Society by Mr Bartlett and Mr Stevanovie Mr Bartlett continued to act as Secretary to Section J--Psychology-of the British Association
