32 sketch of the history of king's college since its original foundation was divided into seven different institutions University of London Kings's College -By this name are now known all those portions of King's College which are incorporated with the University The University governs this portion of the Colloge by means of Delegacy or Committee appointed by the Senate one-quarter of the members are teachers of the College appointed on the nomination of the Professorial Board By the terms of the Act the University undertakes so far as its means and other duties permit to maintain and develop the departments or branches of the College transferred to it as an institution in which wide academic culture may be secured by the variety of its subjects taught in different Faculties including Preliminary and Intermediate Medical Studies Students from Charing Cross Westminster St George's and King's College Hospital Medical Schools attend these Courses King's College Theological Department This remains as has been stated under the government of the Council somewhat re-modelled to suit its new functions and strengthened by the addition of representatives of old Students and of the Staff of the Department There are classes both day and evening It continues its old functions of preparing Students for Holy Orders in the Church of England and gives complete instructions for all Theological Degrees in the University of London University of London King's College for Women This is the name by which the Women's Department has been known since it became separate College It is governed by the Senate by means of the King's College Delegacy among the members of which is at least one representative of the teachers of King's College for Women The Arts and Science Departments are now combined with King's College The Home Science Department is now situated in new buildings on Campden Hill King's College Hospital and Medical School By the terms of the Act as has been explained the Corporation of the Hospital is entirely separated from the College and the authority of the Council is taken away The Committee of Management of the Hospital is entrusted with the government of the Advanced Medical School connected with the Hospital as well as with the management of the Hospital itself The new Hospital buildings are situated at Denmark Hill King's College School This School which is now situated on Wimbledon Common is transferred by the Act to new Cor- poration in which the property of the School is vested the School being managed by governing body partly elected by the Corporation and partly consisting of representatives of various public bodies among which is the Council of the College
