GENERAL INFORMATION 239 UNIVERSITY OP LONDON COMMERCE DEGREE BUREAU AND APPOINTMENTS BOARD Students of King's College are invited to make use of the facilities offered by the University of London Appointments Board which assists Graduates and Students proceeding to the Final Degree Examinations to obtain appointments of all kinds Further details may be obtained from the Secretary of University of London Appoint- ments Board 46 Russell Square Telephone Museum 6344 WAR MEMORIAL The new Athletic Ground at Mitcham which was purchased by the War Memorial Committee as part of the College War Memorial was brought into use at the beginning of 1921 Students are now making regular contributions to the War Memorial Fund for the Athletic Ground The arrangements for the collection of these contributions in each term are made by the Union Society assisted by the Faculty organizations Each student is asked to contribute minimum of 2s 6d per term ATHLETICS AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES The Athletic Clubs affiliated to the Union Society are the Cricket Club the Fives Club the Association and Rugby Football Clubs Men's and Women's Hockey Clubs Men's and Women's Tennis Clubs Boat Clubs Athletic Club Gymnastic and Boxing Club Gymnastic Club Women Net Ball Club Women and Men's and Women's Swimming Clubs Badminton Club Golfing Society and Rifle Club The College Ground at Mitcham contains two Cricket Pitches two Association Football Fields two Rugby Football Fields two Hockey Fields Net Ball Practice Pitch and twenty Tennis Courts Annual Sports organized by the Athletic Club are held early in the Easter Term Arrangements are made from time to time by the Executive Com- mittee for the conduct of debates and functions of social character with view to promoting the corporate life of the College and Faculty Cups are competed for annually in the various sports Commemoration Week" is held each year at the close of the Michaelmas Term The week opens with the Commemoration Oration Commemoration Service is held in the College Chapel and various social functions take place including an Old Students' Reunion organ- ized by the Old Students' Association performances by the Dramatic Society and the Musical Society College Dance College Dinner and the week closes with Students' Supper in the Refectory
