FACULTY OF ENGINEERING 209 The aggregate marks obtained in the Part II Examination will be computed by adding the marks actually obtained in each of the sub- jects of the Group offered by the candidate candidate shall not be precluded from offering both Engineering Geology and Mathematics in Group or both Chemistry of Metals and Mathematics in Groups Β and but the marks obtained in one only of these subjects shall be included in the aggregate or recognised for the requisite number of subjects in which the candidate has to satisfy Candidates will be required to declare on form provided for the purpose the subjects offered for the Part II Examination not later than March 30th in the academic year in which they present them- selves for that Examination 12 The Examiners shall fix the minimum combined aggregate of the marks in the Part and the Part II Examinations required for the award of First Class and Second Class Honours 13 candidate who satisfies the Examiners in not less than four of the subjects comprised within any one of the Groups Β and in Clause 11 or who satisfies the Examiners in five subjects in group but fails to obtain the minimum aggregate of marks for Honours may be recommended for the award of the Pass Degree candidate who under Clause is allowed to proceed to the Part II Examination for the pass degree only shall not be obliged to offer in that Examination more than four of the subjects comprised within any one of the Groups Β and in Clause 11 14 candidate shall not be referred in any subject of the Part II Examination In the event of his failure to satisfy the Examiners as provided in Clauses 11 and 13 he shall be permitted provided that he has completed the Part Examination to present himself in any subsequent year for the whole Part II Examination and further attendance will not be required in those subjects in which he has satisfactorily attended in any previous year 15 Before the conferment of the Degree upon candidates who have passed the Examinations of the University the authorities of King's College shall certify that each candidate has satisfied all the require- ments of the College and of the University 16 diploma for the Degree of Sc Eng under the Seal of the University and signed by the Chancellor shall be delivered to each candidate who has passed after the report of the Examiners shall have been approved by the Senate 17 The King's College London Diploma in Engineering will be awarded to candidates whq succeed in obtaining an Honours degree The King's College London Certificate in Engineering will be awarded to candidates who obtain Pass degree
