faculty of engineering 207 courses vary from the Normal University Red Book 426 to complete the Intermediate Examination in certain specified subjects during or at the end of the second-year course he shall none the less be eligible to present himself for the Part Examination provided that he has satisfied the foregoing condition as to attendance although the Examination would take place in the same year as that in which the candidate completes the Intermediate Examination The subjects of the Part Examination shall be as follows Strength and Elasticity of Materials One paper of three hours Theory and Design of Machines do Hydraulics do rf Theory of Heat Engines do Surveying do Electrical Technology do Mathematics do In each subject excepting Mathematics the Examination shall include the Examination of Course Work In Mathematics the Examination shall consist of one written paper only The standard of the question papers and of the Course Work for this Examination shall be such as is generally recognised as suitable for candidates who have just completed one academic year after passing the Intermediate Examination Candidates for an Honours degree will be required to satisfy the Examiners in Strength and Elasticity of Materials and in Mathematics and in at least four of the remaining subjects set out in Clause It shall be within the discretion of the Board of Examiners to refer candidate in not more than one subject but such reference shall be given in respect of the written paper only candidate who has been referred in subject under Clause shall be allowed to present himself for the Examination in that subject at the next succeeding Part Examination but the marks awarded at this Examination shall not exceed fixed minimum required to satisfy the Examiners The aggregate marks obtained in the Part Examination shall be carried forward and added to those subsequently obtained in the Part II Examination The aggregate will be computed by adding the marks actually obtained in each of the seven subjects of the Examination Candidates who fail to satisfy the Examiners in not more than two of the subjects of the Part Examination shall be eligible to proceed to the Part II Examination for the Pass Degree only
