SCHOLARSHIPS AND EXHIBITIONS 57 IRabbetb DeMcal Scbolarsbips Scholarship in Science of the annual value of £20 was founded in 1885 by John Edward Rabbeth Esq of Middleton Lodge Putney in memory of Samuel Rabbeth Lond former distinguished Student of the School and Medical Faculty who sacrificed his life in an attempt to save child who was dying from Diphtheria There are now two Scholarships of the value of £30 and £15 They are given to the Students who in their first year shall acquit themselves best in the Class Examinations in the Course for the First Examination for Medical Degrees London University The payments for the Scholarships are made in equal parts at the end of each of the Michaelmas Lent and Easter Terms after the election on production to the Secretary of certificates of good conduct and satisfactory progress in his studies signed by the Dean Scholars For the names of those elected before 1925 see previous Calendars 1925 Wale Koyden Samuel 1926 Bird John Daniel Henry Rackow Abraham Moses Seconb Ji ear IDe&ical Scbolarsbip One Scholarship of £20 tenable for one year is offered annually All Medical Students may compete for the Scholarship at the end of their second Winter and Summer Medical Sessions The following are the subjects of the examinations Elementary Anatomy Elementary Physiology and Histology Organic Chemistry including Practical Work The Scholarship can be held only so long as the Scholar continues to attend Lectures as regular Student in King's College The payments for the Scholarship are made in equal parts at the end of each of the Michaelmas Lent and Easter Terms after the election on production to the Secretary of certificates of good conduct and satisfactory progress in his studies signed by the Dean Scholars note Up to 1906 there were Senior Second Year and Junior Scholarships From 1906-1909 there were Senior Third Year and Second Year Scholarships From 1911 only Second Year Scholarship is offered For the names of those elected before 1925 see previous Calendars 1925 Hobbs Louisa Sheppard 1926 Snowball Lawrance Alfred Howard Parkes Keren Isabel
