SCHOLARSHIPS AND EXHIBITIONS 47 Five Exhibitions of £20 year to matriculated students of the University of London on the condition of their reading for the degree In the event of there not being sufficient number of candidates qualified for the above Exhibitions the balance may be used at the discretion of the Dean for granting Bursaries to Regular Day Students who are reading for the Candidates for the above Exhibitions must send in their names to the Dean on or before July 1st in each year Exhibitioners Senior 1925-6 Bassett Herbert Alan Box Hubert Stanley Craske Frederick William Thomas Knight Marcus Lloyd George Arthur Lewis Pym Cornish Philip Gordon Soul Leslie Thomas Vennell Steer Herbert Philip Junior 1925-6 Elcock George William Johnson Norman Ernest Stephen Lee Jack Pharoah Donald James Sholl Donald Arthur Webb James Robert Charles Morsleg Scbolarsbips Founded in 1834 by Major-General Sir Henry Worsley for the education of Missionaries proceeding to British India These Scholarships are administered by the Council of King's College Candidates must be members of the Church of England The Scholarships are of the total monetary value of £100 paid in annual instalments and are open to both men and women The Scholar also receives free education in the Theological Department of Ring's College or in University of London King's College and if medical student in King's College Hospital also and is admitted without fee to all Theological lectures in the College Scholar must on election obtain security for the purpose of ensuring that he will proceed as Missionary to India when his education is completed Scholar if student in the Theological Department must pursue the regular Course for the or the if student in the Medical Faculty Course for obtaining qualification recognised by the General Medical Council if student in any other Faculty Course for degree in the University of London The Scholar if not student of the Theological Department must attend for three years the general lectures in Theology provided for all students in the College and pass the annual examinations He may however attend instead other lectures given in the Theological Faculty with the consent of the Dean
