ANNUAL REPORT The Rev Smith was re-elected Chairman On the same day meeting of electors was held to fill the vacancy on the Council caused by the completion of the Rev Knight's term of office The Rev Cornelius was elected Council and Theological Committee We record with deep regret the deaths of two members of the Council Mr Wordingham Inst was elected Fellow in 1912 and became at the same time member of the Corporation He was member both of the Delegacy and of the Council and was constant in his interest in the welfare of every part of the College He was President of the Old Students' Association and largely instrumental in guiding its formation His loss will be keenly felt in every department of the College and not least in the Theological Department Professor Arthur Dendy Sc had only been elected member of the Council few weeks before his sudden death He was elected Fellow in 1918 and member of the Corporation of King's College in the same year Memorial services for both these members of the Council were held in the College Chapel The Bishop of Jarrow and Professors Henry Gibson Atkins and Edward Barclay Smith Fellows of King's College and members of the Corporation have been elected members of the Council The title of Emeritus Professor has been conferred upon Sir St Clair Thompson on his retirement from the chair of Laryngology in King's College Hospital Staff The Rev Ralph Houghton has been appointed Lecturer in New Testament Deaths of Fellows We regret to record the deaths of the Right Rev Frederick Henry Chase formerly Bishop of Ely who was elected Fellow in 1896 and of Mrs Cornelia Wace who was the first Secretary and Super- intendent of the Ladies' Department of the College afterwards King's College for Women She received the title of Vice-Principal in 1890 and was elected Fellow on her retirement in 1894 Fellowships The Rev Richard Hanson and the Rev Η Hyde formerly Archdeacon of Madras have been elected Fellows of King's College Prof Barclay Smith and Prof Jameson Fellows of King's College elected by the Senate have been appointed members of the Corporation
