vi ANNUAL REPORT twenty years and had made himself leading authority on the coagula- tion of the blood was appointed Honorary Lecturer in Hematology Mr Negus an old student of the College and an Assistant Surgeon at King's College Hospital was appointed Honorary Lecturer in Laryngology subject in which he had done valuable research In the Department of Physiology Miss Soames was appointed Demon- strator in Histology for the Summer Term 1925 Mr Lloyd Williams was appointed Demonstrator in Dental Histology and Mr Singlehurst Ward Demonstrator in Dental Metallurgy Faculty of Engineering -Mr Robertson Lecturer in Electrical Engineering since 1912 was raised to the status of Senior Lecturer Preliminary Class -Mr Brinton was appointed Master of the Preliminary Class in succession to Dr Webb Deaths of Former Members of the College The deaths of Professor Dendy and Mr Wordingham have already been recorded in previous section Mr Thomson Assistant Lecturer in Physical Chemistry since 1921 who gave high promise of distinguished career died in the first term of the session The deaths of the following old members of the College have also to be recorded Mr Frank Mathew writer of distinction Inglis Scholar of the College in 1886 and winner of the Stephen Essay Prize in 1887 Sir William Garstin student in the Engineering Department of the College from 1867 to 1868 and Fellow of the College since 1903 Mr Arthur Frederick Cox former student of the College who entered the Civil Service in India in 1869 and was Comptroller and Auditor-General from 1893 to 1906 Viscount Milner student of the College from 1869 to 1872 who besides gaining the diploma of won practically every prize which was offered by the College during those years Emeritus Professor Longford appointed Professor of Japanese in the College in 1903-an appointment which he held until the teaching of Japanese was transferred to the School of Oriental Studies in 1916 when he received the title of Emeritus Professor Fellows of the College The following were appointed Fellows of the College Mr English Harrison an old student of the College and an original member of the Corporation of King's College appointed Life Governor of the College in 1913 one of the Commissioners appointed under the Transfer Act of 1908 to draw up the Statutes of the College and member of the Delegacy since its formation Professor Barclay-Smith Camb Professor of Anatomy in the College since 1915 Professor Richardson Sc who was appointed
