UNIVERSITY OF LONDON KING'S COLLEGE ANNUAL REPORT FOE THE YEAE 1924-25 Presented to the SENATE of the UNIVERSITY OF LONDON GENERAL REPORT The Delegacy The Delegacy suffered heavy loss during the session by the deaths of Mr Wordingham and Professor Arthur Dendy Mr Wording- ham had long been member of the College in peculiarly intimate sense After attending Ring's College School he entered the College Faculty of Engineering in 1882 and remained student until he received his Associateship in 1885 He was Clothworkers' Exhibitioner and won the Tennant and Barry Prizes He was elected Fellow of the College in 1912 and member of the Council in 1913 and of the Delegacy in the following year He always took lively interest in the affairs of the College more particularly as member of the Engineering Com- mittee of the Delegacy and as President of the Old Students' Associ- ation-an office which he held from the foundation of the Association until his death and he served as representative of the Old Students on the War Memorial Fund Trusteeship Committee from its inception Professor Dendy had been member of the Delegacy since 1923 and member of the Staff of the College since 1905 During the last twenty years he had been constant in his endeavours to promote the welfare of the College he had rendered great services to the House- hold and Social Science Department of King's College for Women he had served the University with loyalty and zeal on Boards of Studies and as member of the Senate and he had devoted himself with an unflagging and unsparing ardour to the advancement of knowledge in his subject in which he was foremost investigator The Rev Canon Barnes resigned his membership of the Delegacy on his consecration to the See of Birmingham Sir Charles Wakefield the Rev Matthews and the Rev Claude Jenkins were appointed in November to fill the vacancy thus created and two other existing vacancies Sir Highfield Inst was appointed to succeed Mr Wordingham Professor Cook became member as representative of the Professorial Board in succession to Professor Jameson The vacancy created by the death of Professor Dendy was filled by the appointment of Professor White
