62 PRIZES XTrencb reefc Testament fl rt3e The Friends and former Pupils of the late Most Reverend Richard Chenevix Trench Archbishop of Dublin formerly Professor of Exegesis of the New Testament at King's College presented to the College the sum of £156 for the purpose of founding Prize to bear his name The Prize is open to regular Students of all Faculties of the College No one can obtain this Prize twice The next Examination will be held in December 1925 in the following subjects The First Epistle to the Corinthians St John's Gospel Names of Candidates must be sent to the Secretary of the College by Saturday December 5th 1925 Prizemen For names of those elected previously to 1923 see former Calendars 1923 Senior Landon Sylvanus Luke 1924 Smith Lewis Charles Reginald Α Κ Ο Wirasinha James Peter Hon Special Tindall Frederick Cryer Mention 1925 Stratton James William IBcCaul Ibebrew anb lb Ueetameitt prise The Friends and former Pupils of the late Reverend Alexander McCaul presented to the College the sum of £250 for the purpose of founding Prizes which should bear his name The interest is given annually in two Prizes of Books of the value of £6 and £4 respectively These Prizes are open to regular Students of all Faculties of the College who have been in attendance during any one of the preceding three terms No one can obtain either of these prizes twice but Junior Prizeman may compete for the Senior Prize in subsequent year if otherwise qualified No Prize will be given except for absolute merit The Examination for the Senior Prize will be held at the end of the Lent Term There will be two papers on the following subjects Translation from the canonical books of the Old Testament Grammar and Composition Theology and Criticism of the canonical books of the Old Testament The Examination for the Junior Prize will be held at the end of the Easter Term There will be two papers on the following subjects Translation from certain set books or parts of books of the Old Testament Grammar and Composition set period of the history of Israel with the literature of the Old Testament belonging to that period
