SCHOLARSHIPS AND EXHIBITIONS 49 Jnglis Stufcentsbip Founded 1857 by George Monckton Esq of Somerford Hall Penkridge and others in memory of the Right Honourable Sir Robert Harry Inglis Baronet The regulations were revised in 1911 and again in 1923 Two Studentships are offered annually one in English one in History and are open to all regular students of the University of London King's College and King's College for Women who shall have completed at least six College terms The value of each Studentship is either £100 or as near to that amount as the finances of the Fund will permit and in no event less than £85 together with free tuition for one Session The Studentship is awarded on the results of the Honours Examination of the University of London in History and in English after recommendation by the College Faculty of Arts The student selected will be required to pursue full-time fcourse of study at King's College or King's College for Women for the Degree or Ph Degree in the subject of the Honours Examination and to give some assistance in teaching in the Department of Modern History or of English as the case may be The student will enter upon his Studentship at the beginning of the Session following the Examination in which he has taken his Degree in Honours Payment for the Studentship is made in three equal instalments at the end of each term on receipt of satisfactory certificate of attendance and progress from the Head of the Department in which the student is studying Modem History 1923 Driver Cecil Herbert Utley Winifred 192 Hudson Muriel Edith 1925 Bealos Arthur Charles Frederick English 1923 Byles Alfred Thomas Plested Rosenfeld Sybil Marion Hon 1924 Cranswick Margaret Ellen 1925 Crotch Walter John Blyth III -FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCE Sambroofce Scbolarsbip in Science Scholarship of £40 per annum for three years will be offered to candidates entering the Faculty of Natural Science Candidates must be under 19 years of age on July 31st in the year of election The Scholarship is open to men and women The following are the subjects of the examination -Pure Mathematics Applied Mathematics Physics Chemistry Botany Zoology and Geology Candidates may take any three of these subjects The Scholarship will be awarded to candidate who shows special ability in one or more of the subjects offered
