ANNUAL REPORT on his appointment as Vicar of St Botolph Without Aldersgate but will continue to lecture on Systematic Theology and to act as Tutor to the Preliminary Year His duties as Chaplain have been taken by Professor Rogers The Rev Smith is acting as Secretary to the Theological Faculty The changes above mentioned opened the way to the revival of the Chair of Dogmatic Theology which had been in abeyance since the resig- nation of Dr Headlam The Council after receiving the report of the Advisors have appointed the Rev Maurice Relton Fellow of Kmg College and formerly Lecturer to be Professor Dr Relton is an old student of the College and was the first to take the degree of in the University of London He is well known as an authority on Christian doctrine and has contributed particularly to the study of Christology The Rev Dr Oesterley has been appointed Honorary Lecturer in Old Testament Mr Gadd Honorary Lecturer in Accadian and Mr Smith Honorary Lecturer in Sumerian Assyriology Death of Fellows During the year the Very Rev Henry Wace Dean of Canter- bury Principal of King College from 1883 to 1897 died The Council sent their condolences to Mrs Wace and were represented at the funeral in Canterbury Cathedral by the Principal the Dean the Secretary and Mr James Parkins The death of the Rev Charles James Ball Fellow of King's College removed scholar of the first rank He had been Chaplain of the College and was elected Fellow in 1915 The Rev William Henry Griffith Thomas died in America during the year He was former student of the College and had held the positions of Principal of Wycliffe Hall Oxford and of Wycliffe College Toronto He was elected Fellow in 1923 We have also to record with deep regret the death of Mrs Barker who had established for herself firm place in the affections of the whole College At the special desire of the Principal the funeral service was held in the College Chapel Fellowships The Council have elected the Right Rev Samuel Knight Bishop of Jarrow formerly Tutor in the Theological Department and the Rev Canon Edward William Watson formerly Professor of Ecclesiastical History to be Fellows Mr Allen Sir Murray Hammick Mr Ī¤ Pear Sc Professor of Psychology in the University of Man- Chester and Mr Jameson Sc Professor of Civil Engineering in the College have been elected Fellows by the Senate of the University of London Sir Murray Hammick and Professor Dale have
