iv ANNUAL EEPORT Professor Barry delivered his Inaugural Lecture on The New Testament Perspective at which the Bishop of Southwark took the chair In the Easter Term the Bishop of Manchester lectured on The Philosophical Presuppositions of the Incarnation In addition to these Professor Rogers has again arranged two courses on Church Music and Professor Dearmer has continued his lectures on Ecclesiastical Art The Theological Faculty is particularly indebted to Professor Rogers for his work in connection with music both in respect to the training of students and to the wider field of the general public University Degrees During the year two members of the Theological Faculty obtained the degree of Ph three took Second-Class Honours in the and three passed the examination for the Pass which has to be taken by all candidates before proceeding to Honours It is satisfac- tory to note that all women who entered for an examination were successful one obtaining Second-Class Honours in the one passing the Intermediate and seven taking the University Certificate in Religious Knowledge The Associateship The Council have elected 29 Associates in the Theological Faculty and 30 in other Faculties The Annual Reunion was held in the College on the Tuesday before the opening of the Easter Term At the Annual Court of the Theo- logical Society the Rev Smith was elected Chairman It was decided to return to the custom of holding the Reunion on Whit Tuesday which appears to be more convenient day for old members of the College Council and Theological Committee We record with deep regret the death of Canon Richard Whitehead Hoare Fellow of King's College and member of the Council Canon Hoare an old student of the College was elected Fellow in 1912 Though failing health prevented him from attending meetings during the last few years he preserved to the end keen interest in the welfare of the College Staff The following changes on the Staff have taken place during the year The Rev Cheetham has resigned from the Lectureship in New Testament and Sub-Wardenship of the Hostel on his appoint- ment as Principal of Egerton Hall Manchester The Rev Carley appointed last year as Tutor in the Evening Classes has unfortunately been compelled to relinquish the post owing to ill health the greater part of his work has been taken over by the Rev Smith The Rev Hanson has rehnquished the post of Chaplain
