38 KING'S COLLEGE LONDON HOSTELS -The Platanes Warden Dr Lawrence There is Hostel for men students at The Platanes Champion Hill It is about five minutes' walk from King's College Hospital and is large and commodious house accommodating 80 students Within the grounds of about one and half acres there are two excellent grass lawn tennis courts and one hard court fives court is in contemplation The illustration will afford some idea of the character of the house and its surroundings Although it stands only few minutes from the route of the electric trams to all parts of London and is also close to trains and buses it is entirely quiet and peaceful In addition to the 80 comfortable bed-sitting rooms there are several excellent common rooms including billiard-room dining-room and reading- and smoking-room All the rooms are lighted by electricity and the house is centrally heated Provision is made for full board on Saturdays and Sundays and for breakfast and dinner on other days The charges vary from £2 2s to £2 12s 6d per week according to the size and the position of the room For conditions of entry regulations and terms application should be made to the Warden at The Platanes Champion Hill II -The Theological Hostel Warden The Rev Matthews Dean of King's College Assistant Warden The Rev Professor Barry Resident Tutor Mr Heawood The Theological Hostel is situated in Vincent Square Westminster and provides accommodation for those Theological students who wish for the advantages of common life Students of other Faculties are admitted when there are vacancies The situation is quiet and within easy walk of the College and from its central position students residing there are able to obtain experience of the best Church work of every kind to hear the first preachers of the day and to be in touch with various social and religious movements Provision is made for full board on Saturdays and Sundays and for breakfast tea and dinner on other days The inclusive charge is £22 per term For conditions of entry regulations and terms application should be made to the Warden at King's College Theological Hostel Vincent Square Westminster
