UNIVERSITY OF LONDON KING'S COLLEGE ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 1923-24 Presented to the SENATE of the UNIVERSITY OF LONDON GENERAL REPORT The Delegacy There were very few changes in the composition of the Delegacy during the session The Rt Hon Walter Runciman was compelled by the pressure of affairs to resign his membership at the close of the session and the vacancy created by his resignation remains to be filled Professor White and Professor Hearnshaw were succeeded as representatives of the Professorial Board by Professor Smiles and the Principal Dr Henry the Warden of the Household and Social Science Department of King's College for Women was elected by the Board of Principal Teachers of the College to succeed Dr Janet Lane-CIaypon who resigned her seat on relinquishing her office as Dean of the Department The Hon Eleanor Plumer resigned her seat on ceasing to be Tutor to Women Students Chakges in the Staff Administrative Professor White who had served the College with generous loyalty as Dean of the Faculty of Natural Science from 1905 to 1924 was succeeded in his office at the close of the session by Professor Smiles Mr Cremer was appointed Sub-Dean of the Faculty to aid the Dean in the manifold duties of his office which in this as in other Faculties have become increasingly onerous with the growth of the College Professor Ernest Wilson who had served the College with ready enthusiasm and unflagging devotion as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 1915 to 1924 was succeeded by Professor Jameson and Mr Η Clarke was appointed Sub-Dean of the Faculty Mr Edwards who had served continuously and steadily as Dean of Evening Classes from 1907 was succeeded by Professor Gollancz and Mr Ε Hall was appointed Sub-Dean to aid Professor Gollancz in his work Mr Cremer resigned the office of Warden of King's College
