268 FACULTY OF THEOLOGY No one is entitled to describe himself as or to wear the hood even if he has passed the examination until he has received his Diploma from the Council There are about one thousand Theological Associates now on the roll The Theological Society endeavours to bind together the Associ- ates of the Faculty by means of various meetings including an annual Reunion on Whit Tuesday Besides students of the College who take regular course as Occa- above described persons who desire to study any branch sional or branches of Theology or to receive partial assistance Students towards the Degree are admitted as occasional students to such lectures as they desire to attend Terms -The Academical Year consists of Three Terms Michaelmas Term from the first week in October to the week before Christmas Lent Term from the middle of January to the end of March Easier Term from the beginning of May to the end of June Students can be admitted at the commencement of any Term but it is of great advantage to commence with the Michaelmas Term as the College and University Examinations are held at the close of the Academical Year Students for the Divinity degree should therefore arrange if possible to have passed the London Matriculation Examination or one of its equivalents and to begin their Theological course in October Students taking the Preliminary Year must commence their Course with the Michaelmas Term except by special permission from the Dean
