202 FACULTY OF ENGINEERING DOCTOR OF SCIENCE Engineering Students who have obtained the Sc Degree may proceed direct to the Sc Eng by research work which may be carried out in the College Arrangements are also made for supervising the studies of Graduates of this and of other Universities who are candidates for higher degree in the University of London For further particulars refer to the University Calendar RESEARCH Facilities are offered in the various Laboratories of the College for persons wishing to undertake Research It is important that Candidates for the Examination of the University of London should make themselves thoroughly acquainted with the Regulations of the University regarding registration attendance at recognised Courses filling in 01 Schedules payment of Examination Fees and other matters These Regulations can be obtained at the College Oflice on application ENGINEERING SOCIETY This Society was formed in the Lent Term 1847 by the Students in the Faculty of Applied Sciences for the purpose of reading papers on Scientific and Engineering subjects Meetings are held one evening each week during Term Visits to Engineering Works are also arranged on Wednesday afternoons in the winter session In the Society's Reading Room which is open daily to all Members the leading papers and periodicals are provided The Expenses of the Society are defrayed by Subscription of is per Term from each Member COURSE FOR COLLEGE DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE IN ENGINEERING Candidates for the College Diploma attend in the main the same classes as those preparing for the University Degree COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION This Examination must be passed by all who have not passed the London Matriculation Exam or its equivalent and wish to obtain the full privileges of Regular Students It is held at the commencement
