182 FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCE REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION OF MEDICAL STUDENTS Every Medical Student is advised to register the commencement of his professional studies at the Office of the General Medical Council No Student is allowed to register unless he produces Certificate of having passed preliminary Examination in Arts and Pre-Medical Examination in Science Students can pursue their studies for the Pre-Medical Examination in Science at King's College Amongst the Arts Examinations recognised are the Matriculation Examination of the University of London the Oxford and Cambridge Senior Local Examinations and the Special Examinations in Arts periodically held by the College of Preceptors The choice of Preliminary Examination in Arts will depend upon the particular Degree or Diploma which the Student proposes to acquire The Matriculation Examination at the University of London takes place thrice year in January June and September respectively Ex- aminations in Arts are held by the College of Preceptors four times year viz in the months of March June September and December The complete List of Examining Bodies whose examinations fulfil the requirements of the Medical Council respecting Prelimin- ary Education and also the conditions under which Students can be Registered after commencing professional study may be obtained from the Registrar General Medical Council Office 44 Hallam Street Portland Place London At present the subjects of the Preliminary Examination in Arts are as follows English Mathematics Elementary language other than English An additional subject or subjects as required by the regulations of the particular examination to be chosen from the subjoined list viz History Geography Physical Science Natural Science Latin Greek Hebrew French German or other language accepted for the purpose Note -Intending Students are strongly advised to pass the Matriculation Examination of the University of London they will then on entering the College be registered as Internal Students of the University
