161 jfacultp of IWatural Science Dean of the Faculty for 1925-26 Professor Samuel Smiles Sc Vice-Dean Professor Dale Sub-Dean Ckemee Sc Chem COURSES OF STUDY The object in view in this Faculty is to provide systematic Course of Study in Science suitable for general education or for Students preparing either for the Science Degrees at the University of London or for those in other Universities The Course of Study in this Faculty may be taken either by itself as preparation for Science Degree or in connection with the Course of Study in the Faculty of Arts FOR THE DEGREES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LONDON It is important that Candidates for the Examinations of the University of London should make themselves thoroughly acquainted with the Regulations of the University regarding Registration attendance at recognised courses filling in of Schedules payment of Examination Fees and other matters These Regulations can be obtained at the College Office on application MATRICULATION Before proceeding to study for the Degree in Science it is necessary to pass the Matriculation Examination Detailed particulars of the Examination may be obtained from the External Registrar University of London South Kensington There is special class in the College conducted by Mr Brinton devoted to preparation for this and other Entrance Examina- tions For particulars see separate leaflet INTERMEDIATE In the First year Students take the courses for the Intermediate Sc Examination Four Subjects are to be chosen by Candidates from the following list and one at least must be taken from amongst the first three Pure Mathematics VI Botany II Applied Mathematics VII Zoology III Experimental Physics VIII General Physiology IV Chemistry IX Military Science Geology Geography
