78 FACULTY OF ARTS DEPARTMENT FOR TRAINING TEACHERS FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS The course of training theoretical and practical ex- tends over one academical year It is suitable for those who are preparing for the Teacher's Diploma of the London University or for the Certificate of the Teacher's Training Syndicate University of Cambridge Students are required to enter at the commencement of the Michaelmas Term The following persons are eligible for admission to the Department Graduates ii Associates of King's College in the Faculties of Arts or of Natural Science iii Persons who furnish evidence satisfactory to the Boards of the Faculties that in two or more of the under-mentioned groups of studies they have attained standard equivalent to the foregoing Classics French or German Mathematics English Language Literature and History Any two of the following Physics Mechanics Chemistry Botany Geography The course of training includes the following Logic Psychology Ethics ii Theory of Teaching Method General and Special the Professors of the Arts and Natural Science Faculties will give assistance in the study of modes of teaching particular subjects of the school-course School Organisation and Manage- ment History of educational theory and of educational systems iii Practical work in School under supervision The fee for the whole course is in the Faculty of Arts £40 in the Faculty of Natural Science £50 payable terminally in advance
