museums 53 MARSDEN LIBRARY The Marsden Library Bibliotheca Marsdeniana Philologica et Orientalis is in the keeping of the Librarian and is open to members of the staff and to Orientalists Scholars and others on the production of letter of introduction The collection was bequeathed to the College by the late William Marsden and contains some unique and many very rare editions of works bearing on language The Catalogue by Marsden is in print and copies are kept in the Librarian's Room THE SIR CHARLES WHEATSTONE LIBRARY This collection forms part of the General Library and was bequeathed to the College by the late Professor Sir Charles 'Wheatstone It is valuable collection of all works bearing on Electricity and kindred sciences up to the year 1875 The Catalogue by the Librarian is kept in his room and books from this collection are lent under General Library rules MUSEUMS king george the third Her Majesty the Queen having been graciously pleased to confer upon King's College the valuable Collection of Me- chanical Models and Philosophical Instruments formed by His Majesty King George the Third suitable room has been fitted up for its reception Extensive additions have been made to this Museum by the Council and by the donations of private individuals This Museum is under the charge of the Board of Engineer- ing Architecture and Applied Sciences natural history minerals &c Valuable collections of Minerals of Geological specimens and of Chemical productions both natural and artificial as well as illustrations of the different processes of Manufactures in their various stages are open to Students during Term architecture and building construction An extensive collection of Building Materials and 111 us-
