480 EXHIBITIONS AND SCHOLARSHIPS means of lapsed or forfeited scholarships or of interest on the Warneford Scholarships funds and additional scholar- ship will be offered in Class II This Scholarship is open to such Matriculated Students of the third year as have for 18 months preceding the end of their third Winter Session resided either writhin the walls of the College or with member of the Medical Staff authorized by the Council to receive Medical Students into his house as Boarders The Examination will be partly in Divinity and partly in Medical Subjects and an equal number of marks are assigned to each portion of the Examination Any Candid date failing to satisfy the Examiners in Divinity is dis- qualified from further examination In the Professional subjects candidates are allowed to take up either Medicine Surgery Anatomy or Physiology and no Scholarship will be awarded to any Candidate who does not display distinct merit in Professional subjects This Scholarship is tenable for two years provided the Scholar continue to attend Lectures in the Medical Faculty and to reside within the limits of the College unless previously to the expiration of the two years for which the Scholarship is tenable the Scholar have passed the necessary examinations required by the College of Surgeons and the Society of Apothecaries or have been excused from further residence by the Council of King's College for any cause that may to them seem reasonable provided also that at the close of his Fourth Academical Year each Scholar on this foundation shall produce to the Council certificate signed by the Principal and the Censor of the College and by the Dean of the Medical Faculty of good conduct of regular attendance at Lectures and satisfactory progress in his studies during the year then past Unless such Certificate be produced the Scholarship will become void at the close of that Academical Year The Scholars of this Class will be required to compete for the ordinary Medical Scholarship in their fourth year and the Dean's Certificate of satisfactory progress in Medical studies
