476 EXHIBITIONS AND SCHOLARSHIPS MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIPS The late Rev Samuel Wilson Wakneford LL in November 1851 presented to the College the sum of Five Thousand Pounds for the foundation of Medical Scholarships The following are the Rules under which Scholars on this Foundation are elected Class -For the Encouragement of the previous Education of Medical Students Two Scholarships are given at the commencement of each Winter Session of the value of Ā£25 per annum each to be held for three years subject to the provisions hereafter stated These Scholarships are open to all Matriculated Students of the Medical Faculty being also perpetual pupils of the Hospital at the commencement of their first Winter Session whether attending the distinctly Medical or the Preliminary Science Course The following are the subjects of Examination Divinity Latin and Greek English History Mathematics French and German An equal number of marks is assigned to each of the five subjects Candidates may omit any subject except Divinity Any Candidate failing to satisfy the Examiners in Divinity is thereby absolutely disqualified from further examination
