ASSOCIATESHIP 449 ASSOCIATESHIP Extract from the King's College London Act 1882 Associates of the College 31 The Council may also elect as Associates who are not to be as such members of the College such former students as are duly recommended according to the existing rules or according to such rules as they from time to time make -The Council awards this distinction on the recommenda- tion of the Boards of the respective Faculties or Divisions Privileges of Associates -General The privileges of Associates are unless otherwise expressly provided under the Rules of any particular Department perpetual free admission to all the classes forming the regular Matriculated Students Course in the Department from which they have been elected and admission to any other Class except the Evening Classes and Civil Service Classes at half fees the use of the Libraries and Museums under the regulations which apply to Students and the privilege of sitting at the High Table when dining in the College Hall in Academical dress Privileges of Associates -Evening Classes Associates of the Department of the Evening Classes have the following privileges- They have perpetual free admission with the excep- tion of 2s 6d registration fee in each Session to all the subjects in which they have passed their final examination except the Practical Classes They may be examined in these subjects year by year with other Students may be classed in order of merit and may obtain such Certificate as the number of their marks will justify but they can- not obtain Prize in these subjects They have perpetual permission to attend all other subjects of study excepting Writing Drawing Short- hand Vocal Music and Publio Reading and Speaking
