civil service department 409 Examination The Courses are divided into periods of about 10 weeks There is mid-period admission month after the beginning of each period when Students can join for six weeks for two-thirds of the period fee or for sixteen weeks for one and half times the period fee The dates of admissions are given on slip issued with the Prospectus Payment of Fees -These must be paid in advance The Secretary's office is open for the receipt of fees from 10 to and from to 15 except on Saturdays when it is open from 10 to only If single fee be paid for more than one period consecu- tive periods must be taken If fee be unexpired at the end of Course it must be worked out at the beginning of the next The work of the Classes is graded -For this purpose they are divided into Sections On joining Students are placed in the Section the Lecturers think most suitable They are moved to higher Sections as soon as they are qualified Home Work is set and examined Books -On joining Students are given list of the Books used which can be purchased at the College discount of 2d to 3d in the shilling being allowed Refreshments -These can be had in the middle of each Class When Students attend Morning and Afternoon Classes the interval is spent in the College and dinner or light refreshments can be had The charges are very moderate Class Rooms -A very commodious suite of rooms ap proached by separate entrance from the quadrangle adjoin- ing the Straud and entirely shut off from the rest of the College has been assigned for the exclusive use of these Classes Boarders -There is Boarding House taken and furnished specially for Students from the country and others The Terms which are very moderate can be had on application to Miss Braginton King's College London Balance of Fee returned in case of Success -If Student be declared successful in her Civil Service Examination the portion of her fee unexpired at such declaration will be returned or transferred to another Class at her own option
