CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT 397 mid-period admission month after the beginning of period when Students can join for six weeks at two-thirds of the period fee or for sixteen weeks for one and half times the period fee The dates of admissions are given on slip issued with the prospectus New 2nd Division students are requested to attend be- tween 15 and on the Friday preceding the beginning of the period of course to have their classes and subjects arranged Payment of Fees These must be paid in advance -The Secretary office is open for the receipt of Fees from 10 to and from the corridor entrance from to 15 on Saturdays 10 to only Students of the Second Division Clerks' Class should if possible pay their fees before on the opening day otherwise they are liable to be late in entering the Class Rooms If single fee be paid for more than one period consecutive periods must be taken If fee be unexpired at the end of course it must be worked out at the beginning of the next Boohs -On joining Students are given list of books used They are kept in stock and can be obtained from the Hall Porter at any time when the College is open dis- count of from 2d to 3c in the shilling is allowed Special Classes -There are short Special Classes at 10 free to the Students attending the General Classes on that evening The Worh is graded -For this purpose the Classes are divided into Sections On joining Students are placed in the Section which the Lecturers think most suitable They are moved to higher Sections as soon as they are found qualified If qualified they may be placed in the highest Section on joining Home Worh is set and examined The Lecturers can be consulted by Parents and Students from to 45 The former should call not later than 45 φ Late Attendance -If an intending Student be unable to attend at the beginning of the evening he should explain this to the Lecturers when special arrangements will be made for the work taken in his absence
