department for ladies 297 ACADEMICAL YEAR The academical year consists of thirty weeks divided into three terms of ten weeks and extends from October to the first or second week of July with vacation at Christmas and Easter The Prince of Wales's Birthday Ash Wednesday Ascension Day Whit-Monday are kept as Holidays in this Department FOR GENERAL RULES FOR MATRICULATED STUDENTS see Appendix page 357 HOUSE OF RESIDENCE King's Hall 26 and 28 Kensington Square Miss Eveline Faithfull late Student of Somerville College Oxford opened in October 1897 house of resi- dence for students at 28 Kensington Square The House is arranged on the nsual College principles Each student has one bed-sitting room fitted up as study besides having the use of the general sitting rooms Students are expected to give term's notice before leaving failing this the equivalent fees must be paid Miss Eveline Faithfull is prepared to give advice as to work and practical help if desired All students must conform to the House rules Further details can be obtained by applying to Miss Eveline Faithfull 28 Kensington Square CORRESPONDENCE CLASSES Students unable to attend the Lectures in the following Classes may send written work weekly to the Professor who will return it corrected and annotated Harmony Prof Vernh Latin and Greek Prof Warr French Esclangon German Dr Buchheim
