FACULTY OF MEDICINE 269 In the event of death of any patient in his wards or in the Maternity Department he shall send immediate notice to the Physician in charge and when post-mortem examination of such cases will be held in the Hospital to the Patho- logical Registrar He shall see that the daily records of all cases in the wards are carefully kept by the clerks and shall be responsible to the Physicians for the same He shall himself visit all cases of abnormal labour of emergency and of serious illness after confinement in the Maternity Department he shall forthwith send for the Physician-Accoucheur or Assistant Physician-Accoucheur in all cases requiring instrumental delivery and in all cases of difficulty he shall be held responsible for immediately reporting all cases of irregularity and neglect He shall present weekly summary of all cases in the Maternity Department to the Physician-Accoucheur Assistant House-Accoucheur -The subjects of the examina- tion for this office are the same as those required for the office of Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant He shall have served the office of In Patient Clinical Clerk for the Phy- sician for Diseases of Women and Children and Physician- Accoucheur or Out-Patient Clerk to the Assistant Physician for Diseases of Women and Children He shall unless specially exempted by the Committee of the Hospital reside in the Hospital '0 No Student is eligible to enter on the duties of this office at period later than eight years and half from the time of his Matriculation or year of standing in the Medical Faculty or nine years and half if he have passed the Primary Eng the Intermediate Examination of London or the corresponding Examination of any British University Candidates may be admitted to examination for this office before they have obtained their diplomas to practise but will not be allowed to enter upon their duties until such diplomas have been obtained
