268 FACULTY OF MEDICINE He shall attend Casualty cases if disengaged between 2-4 30 on such afternoons as the Junior House Phy- sician shall be with his Physicians in the wards He shall also take his share of extra Casualty duty At the com- mencement of his term of office he shall prepare rota of Casualty duty and submit it to the Dean for his approval He shall not be absent from the Hospital between 10 -4 30 except between the hours of 12 15-1 He shall never be absent at the same time as the Junior House Physician He shall have charge of all apparatus in use for Clinical Pathology He shall be responsible for the quiet and orderly behaviour of the Resident Medical Officers and of all Students within the precincts of the Hospital He shall hold office for period of four months Physician-Accoucheur's Assistant -He shall be qualified by some Diploma to practise at the date at which his duties commence and shall have served the office of In-patient Clinical Clerk for the Physician for Diseases of Women and Children and Physician-Accoucheur or Out-patient Clerk to the Assistant-Physician for Diseases of Women and Children Candidates will be examined in Midwifery and in the Diseases of Women and Children No Student shall be eligible to enter on the duties of this office at period later than nine years from the date of his Matriculation or year of standing in the Medical Faculty or ten years if he have passed the Primary Eng the Intermediate Examination of London or the corre- sponding Examination of any other British University The duties of Phvsician-Accoucheur's Assistant are as follows He shall visit the wards under his char ge daily between the hours of 10 and 12 15 o'clock in the morning accompany- ing the Physician-Accoucheur during his visit and prescribe and act under his direction shall see such patients in the evening as he may think necessary and be responsible for the proper treatment of all the cases
