evening classes 221 -The Courses of Instruction will afford an opportunity to students who can study only in the evenings to obtain instruction in well-equipped University laboratories and will make available to evening students the same advantages as are enjoyed by University day students but they are only intended for those who are practically engaged during the day in some trade business or occupation Saturday Morning Classes For Teachers Mathematics by Professor Hudson Course of about Ten Lectures on the Teaching of Elementary Mathema- tics on alternate Saturdays at 10 beginning Saturday October 14 The Lectures in the Michaelmas Term will be on Teach- ing Arithmetic and Geometry and in the Lent Term on Teaching Algebra The object of these Lectures is to help those who are prac- tically engaged in teaching and wish to become acquainted with modern methods and improvements in order to render their teaching more effective Attention will be paid not only to the general principles of the subjects but also points of detail and difficulties suggested by members of the Class will be discussed Teachers desirous of attending this Class should send in their names together with statement of the teaching in which they are engaged as soon as possible to Prof Hudson 15 Altenberg Gardens Physics under the direction of Professor Grylls Adams Sc on Saturdays from 10 to commencing Saturday October 14 The Course will consist of- Practical Work in the Wheatstone Laboratory the object of the instruction being to enable students to obtain an intimate knowledge of the methods employed in physical measurements and familiarity with the use of apparatus The Class will be limited to twenty students and early appli- action for admission should be made to the Professor
