134 FACULTY OF SCtENcfe Evening Classes Class -Experimental Physics Friday 6-7 The Lectures will be given with special references to the needs of Students preparing for the Intermediate Science and Sc Examinations of the London University Fee £1 Is per Term or £1 lis 66 for the Winter Session Practical Physics Friday 7-9 The Class of Practical Physics has been arranged to enable Students to obtain an intimate personal knowledge of the methods employed in Physical Measurements and familiarity with the use of apparatus It is especially intended to meet the requirements of Students preparing for the Intermediate and the Final Sc Examinations of the London University The work will consist of progressive exercises in the different branches of Physics comprising Determinations of Weight Volume and Specific Gravity of Solids Liquids and Gases Measurement of expansion by Heat Specific and Latent Heat Fusing and Boiling Points Hygrometry Practical measurements in Magnetism Sound and Light illustrative of the more important laws Electrical measurements of Current Strength Electromotive Force Resistances of wires batteries &c Capacity of Condensers Electro-chemical constants Determination of the constants of Dynamo Machines Students wishing to obtain general knowledge of the subject are recommended to follow syllabus that will be provided in the class-room for their guidance Those who desire to work specially at any particular branch will have every facility afforded them consistent with the general work of the Class Fee £1 Is per Term THE WHEATSTONE PHYSICAL LABORATORY Students who are sufficiently advanced are admitted to Course in the Wheatstone Laboratory and are taught to make experiments for themselves in certain branches of
