FACULTY OF ARTS 93 GERMAN ft Φ Buchheim Ph Professor Junior Class Tu and Fri 30-3 30 Accidence of German Grammar Reading easy German Books Learning German Poetry by heart for practice in the pronunciation of German Special attention will be paid from the very beginning to Conversation and to practice in the reading of various German Handwritings This Class will be so arranged that beginners as well as those who have already acquired some knowledge of the language will be able to join it Books Buchheim's "Modern German Reader Part מלth Edition Clarendon Press The Clarendon Press German Poetry for Beginners II Senior Class Tu and Fri 30-4 30 Syntax German Composition and Reading of Modern German Classics Dictation of German Idioms Translations at Sight and Conversation on the subjects of the Readings Ocasional Readings of Modern German Plays in Farts In Lent Term the Lectures will include Course on the History and Philology of the German Language in the Easter Term Course of Lectures will be given in German on the German subjects set for the Examination for Honours at the University of London Individual attention will be paid to all the Students and special help will be given to those who prepare for any of the public or competitive Examinations or for the teaching profession Fees -Each Class £2 2s per Term or £5 5s per ann Class for the study of Middle High German will be formed in the Day-time or in the Evening if sufficient number of Students present themselves The Professor gives Prize to the Student who has most distinguished himself η his German studies during the academical year by steady work and attention
