DAY TRAINING COLLEGE The Education Department has sanctioned the training of teachers for service in elementary schools at certain colleges of University rank and in the London district King's College has been thus recognized and authorized to receive fifty students men only Such Students are enrolled as Matriculated Students of the Faculty of Arts They attend the Classes of this Faculty in all subjects not distinctly professional so far as such classes are suitable The Annual Fee is 10 deducted in three instalments from the Annual Grant of 25 whieh is paid by the Govern- ment to each Queers Scholar The remaining Ā£15 is paid to the Student Candidates for admission to this Department must satisfy one of the following requirements have passed the Queen's Scholarship Examination in the First Class have passed the Matriculation Examination of the University of London or some other examination of similar standard pass an Entrance Examination to be held at King's College early in September of each year in the following subjects Algebra to Quadratic Equations and Euclid and II Latin Accidence to the end of Regular Verbs- Abbott's Via Latina first 40 exercises French -Bue's First French Book Ha- chette In lieu of French an equivalent knowledge of German will be accepted if the candidate gives notice beforehand Certificated Teachers who desire to enter for one year's training can only be admitted provided they have passed the Certificate Examination Second Year's Papers in the First or Second Division
