Mr τ Plarr having resigned the Librarianship of the College owing to his appointment as Librarian to the Royal College of Surgeons the Council have elected in his place Mr Walton of Keble College Oxford Funds to be applied for the reconstruction and enlargement of the Library are much needed School -The past year has been momentous epoch in the history of King's College School The removal to Wimbledon Common announced in the last Report is an accomplished fact and there is every prospect of con- tinuance of the steady increase in numbers which every term since the removal has witnessed The urgent necessity foi an immediate increase of accommodation is being met by the erection of large building which will be added to when further extension becomes necessary In July last the first Speech Day in the new premises was celebrated the prizes being distributed by the Hon Parsons Member of the Council The chief honours won by members of the School past and present during the year 1897 were OXFORD Ireland Hertford First Class Honours in Classi- cal Moderations Unwin Wadham First Class Honours in Classical Moderations Tyrrell Pembroke Second Class Honours in Classical Moderations Sargent Brasenose Chancellor's Prize for Essay on English Satirists CAMBRIDGE Skeat L1TT Christ's Honorary of Oxford Christie Η Trinity Foreign Correspondent of French Academy of Science Created Northcott St John's Entrance Science Scholar- ship at Guy's Hospital also Second Class in Part II of Natural Science Tripos First Examinationf or Kerslake Emmanuel Senior Opt Extension of Salters' Company's Scholarship υ υ
