GENERAL RULES 43 Special Certificate is required in the case of Pupils coming up from the School Except by the special permission of the Principal no one is admitted Student of the Faculties of Arts Science and Medicine under sixteen years of age There is an Examination every year for all Students at the end of the xMichaelmas and Easter Terms At these Examina- tions the Students are classed according to their proficiency 10 detailed Report is sent at the end of each term to the parents or guardians of each Student both as to his progress in particular studies and as to his general conduct ATTENDANCE AT LECTURES AND EXAMINATIONS 11 AUStudents whetherMatriculatedorNon-Matriculated are required to be regular and punctual in attendance at the Lectures and Examinations of their respective Faculties Register is kept of their attendance and referred to when- ever College testimonials are required No certificate of attendance upon any class will be given to any Student viho absents himself from the Examination without permission 12 If Student desires exemption from any single Lecture or Examination he is to fill up printed form obtainable from the Hall Porter and present it for signature to the Lecturer or if he be in the Faculty of Medicine to the Dean of that Faculty Should he desire to be excused attendance for the remainder of any day he must make similar application to the Dean of his Faculty These exemption papers will be submitted to the Principal in due course and it is to be understood that they cannot be granted except in case of illness or other real necessity 13 Tf the Parent or Guardian of Student desire that he should be permitted to diminish or modify his work printed form obtainable at the Secretary's office must be filled up which after being submitted to the Lecturer from whose Lectures the Student desires exemption and to the Dean of the Faculty will be submitted for signature to the Principal As irregularity is generally injurious both to
