456 EXHIBITIONS and SCHOLARSHIPS ISxijtirittong for framing Ceadjerg in Secon arg Six Exhibitions of £15 each for one year are offered annually for competition to Students entering the Teachers' Training Course who in the opinion of the Examiners shall be duly qualified Each Exhibition will be renewed for second year on the recommendation of the Board of the Faculty of Arts The next Examination will begin on September 29 ugelq cftolargljipe for oriental languages The Ouseley Scholarships of the Oriental School and the expenses connected with their administration are provided for by the annual produce of £5 000 stock and £100 cash which amounts were vested in the names of the Duke of Fife Lord Eosebery and Lord Herschell as Trustees by the Misses Ouseley in memory of their father the late Colonel Jasper Ouseley The Scholarships are to be given for proficiency in Arabic Persian Hindustani and other Oriental languages or in some or one of such languages β י יי -י י י The value of each Scholarship will be £50 per annum vjli- n& j4 ν The examinations are held in July of each year for three Scholarships The Scholarships are tenable for two years provided that the conduct of the Scholar is considered to be satisfactory by the Trustees and power is given to the Trustees to extend the tenure to three years in special cases Candidates must either have been Students of the School of Oriental Studies of the Imperial Institute or must become Students therein if elected for so long period as the Scholarship is tenable and in no case for less than one year The age of Candidates is to be that of Candidates admitted for competition for the Indian Civil Service viz above years and under 23 years of age on the lst of July of the year of examination
